Tuthilltown Whiskey
Before Prohibition more than 1,000 farm distillers produced alcohol from New York grains and fruits, now there is only one. Tuthilltown distillers are bringing back traditional batch-distilled spirits and we are excited to get our hands on some.
What is it
For 220 years Tuthilltown Gristmill, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, used waterpower to render local grains to flour, now they are using that to make some really unique whiskey and bourbon. As whiskey and bourbon lovers we are always on the lookout for some cool and unique distillers across the U.S. and we think we found some.
What makes it special
Tuthilltown whiskeys are the only legally distilled and aged grain spirits produced in New York since Prohibition. Since we are West Coast based we thought we would give it a try. And since they bottle in small batches we would expect the quality to be a little higher.
Did we mention that the bottle looks really cool?
The bottle has a unique shape to it that will immediately draw attention to it. Plus it has a cork cap with a wax seal that is also really cool. This will make a great gift for the Whiskey lover.
