Trikke T8 Sport
The Trikke is a human powered carving machine that will allow you reach speeds of 15-18mph without ever using your legs to kick the ground. Seriously cool… is the first thing that I said when I saw it online. Needless to say after watching a couple of the videos online I knew I had to give this a try. I spoke with the CEO of Trikke Tech, Inc, John Simpson on Friday and my demo unit shipped today, so you better signup to receive my updates!
How does it work?
The Trikke uses a patented 3 wheel technology called 3CV. 3CV stands for 3 wheeled cambering vehicle and basically means all 3 wheels lean at the same time. This not only propels you forward, but also provides greater traction in the turns since all 3 wheels are one the ground leaning into each and every turn . This technology allows the rider to go forward without a chain, without pedaling and your feet will never need to touch the ground. The rider just uses a fluid side to side carving motion similar to surfing or skiing to get moving.
Who is the Designer?
The technology behind the Trikke was developed in Brazil by Gildo Beleski. Gildo wanted to develop a 3 wheeled vehicle that would allow all 3 wheels to stay on the ground for increased traction while turning.
How far can you ride?
According to the website Trikke.com you can ride this upwards of 50 miles per day and even uphills (with a bit of practice). John mentioned to me that he rode the Trikke in the Rosarito to Ensenado Fun Bike Ride and that is a 50 mile ride!
I am excited to give this unique 3 wheeled machine a try and I will keep you posted with updates. Don’t forget to grab the RSS feed, signup for our email newsletter or follow me on Twitter to get the full details.
