The promise of a universal charging pad for all portable electronic devices has been floating around for a couple years now. I am sure you have heard the rumors about a small pad like device that will charge anything that is set on top of it. Now it seems that this wireless charging concept is going mainstream and is now available in both Target and Best Buy (I think that qualifies as mainstream).  Powermat now offers a home and office charging mat as well as a folding Powermat portable charging mat for your cell phones, iPods, iPhones, Nintento DS & DSI, Sony PSP and many more electronic devices. Each Powermat charger will charge up to 3 Powermat-enabled devices simultaneously (plus one USB power port). Each Powermat charging pad includes 8 powercube receiver tips that will enable your devices to work on the charging pad. Seems like a great concept that is coming into reality here. It will be nice to get rid of all the specific chargers that are plugged in all over my house and replace it with a couple of these universal charging pads.
